ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra Idukki implemented Scheduled Caste Sub Plan project funded by ICAR-Indian Institute of Rice Research, Hyderabad, entitled: “Enhancing The Livelihood Security of Scheduled Caste Farmers of Chillithodu Ward in Mannamkandam Village of Adimaly Block in Idukki District of Kerala Under SCSP Scheme 2023-24” Under IIRR, Hyderabad SCSP Scheme” Scheduled Caste Sub Plan Scheme “Enhancing The Livelihood Security of Scheduled Caste Farmers of Chillithodu Ward in Mannamkandam Village of Adimaly Block in Idukki District of Kerala Under SCSP Scheme 2023-24” jointly implemented by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Idukki and Adimaly Grama Panchayat with the funding of ICAR- Indian Rice Research Centre, Hyderabad was conducted at Chillithodu Ward. Sri. Ansari, Valara block division member presided over the programme. Dr.S Jayababu, SMS Animal Husbandry, KVK Idukki, welcomed the delegates and Scheduled Caste farmers who participated in the function. The program was inaugurated by Smt. Soumya Anil, President, Adimaly Grama Panchayat. In her inaugural address he deliberated on the importance healthy and safe to eat production of crops and also maintaining traditional germplasm of Paddy by the Scheduled Caste Communities as a part of traditional variety conservation. she also pointed out the techniques to ensure the livelihood security of paddy farmers and given suggestions to farmers. Dr. R Marimuthu, Senior Scientist and Head deliberated on project details during the function. Smt. Nisha Santhosh, CDS Chairperson, social workers, Agricultural Assistant Adimaly Krishibhavan felicitated the programme. After the inaugural session, technical products namely Bioinputs like Pseudomonas, Trichoderma, Neem Soap, Arka Microbial Consortium, Peacilomyces, VAM, IIHR Vegetable special, PGPR Capsule, Knapsack sprayers, were distributed to the SC farmers. Ms. Ashiba A, Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Idukki conducted a class on Integrated Nutrient and fertilizer application in Rice Cultivation. The scheme was implemented for 100 selected Scheduled Caste farmers. The project was implemented by the Project coordination of Principal Investigator Dr. R Marimuthu, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Idukki and Co- Investigators Ms. Preethu K Paul, SMS Agricultural Extension, KVK Idukki, Mr. Sudhakar Soundarajan, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection) and Ms. Ashiba A, Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy).
